Baseball is a very complex sport, that involves many aspects of play. Some of these aspects are pitching, batting, and fielding. Baseball leaves spectators at the edge of their seats with non-stop action. One of the most important positions in baseball is the pitcher which provides most of the games action. In order to strike out a batter the pitcher must pitch three strikes, to do this the pitcher uses many different tactics and pitches. One of the most common pitches is a fastball pitched in a precise plays usually according to the batters weakness. The other is a curve ball which is pitched high or low then it will drop either away or toward the batter. The real action starts after the pitcher has pitched the ball to the batter. Most of the action in comes of the batter's bat. In order for the batter to hit the ball he must use a bat. Their are two types of bats the first is a aluminum bat only used for Little and Junior Leagues. The second is the wooden bat used for Professional Leagues where the batter's are a lot stronger. The batter's object is to hit the ball, the ways to hit the ball are the pop fly, the line drive, or the ground ball. The pop fly is a high hit ball that's routinely caught. The line drive is blasted down in a straight or diagonal line and is very hard to catch. The ground ball is usually caught if not it makes it through a gap in the field. After the ball is hit the remaining action is left to the fielders. The fielders job is to do what ever it takes to get the batter's out. The fielders can throw the ball to a bag before the batter gets there to get the batter out. Another way is to catch the ball before it hits the ground. The last way is to tag a player if there are no players on the base before them. The fielders play on a diamond which consists of three bags that mark the running point. Two foul lines which mark if the ball is foul, which means out of play. A home plate which if is touched marks a point on the scoreboard. A home run fence which marks the point of a certain distance where the ball can be hit to be awarded a free run around the bases for the batter and the runners. The batter's box where the batter stands while batting. The last two markings of the field are the infield marker which marks the infield from the outfield, and the warning line which warns the player if he's running to close to the home run fence. That's how the action filled game of baseball is played.
